The Learn-to Camp program gives you an opportunity to camp in the heart of Montreal this summer. Parks Canada specialist welcomes you with the necessary equipment at the Raceway Bank, a stone’s throw from Old Montreal.

It's the best way to become familiar with outdoor activities and learn at the side of experts. Don’t miss your chance: places are limited.

Summary of activity

  • Assist to a Show by La Tournée FEU DE CAMP (french only)
  • Participate in the camp cooking workshops sponsored by MEC
  • Master the skill of pitching a tent
  • Relax in a hammock beside the canal
  • Toast marshmallows on an open fire
  • Enjoy the family area with spray-on tattoos, the PARKA mascot and much more!

 

 

Programming

 

Saturday

  • 12 pm to 3 pm: Arrival, registration of participants and putting up tents

Day activities

  • Discovery Dome (Workshops for adults of 20 to 25 minutes)
  • Family Space (family workshops of 15 to 20 minutes)

Night activities

  • 6 PM: Camping Chef Off! (60 minutes)
  • 7 PM: Washer Toss Tournament
  • 7 PM: Zumba Lesson (30-60 minutes)
  • 8 PM: Chasing Northern Light (30 minutes)
  • 8 PM: Campfire Workshop (with Marshmallows!) (20 minutes, continuous thereafter)
  • 9 PM: La Tournée FEU DE CAMP show (60 minutes)

Sunday morning activities

  • 8 AM: Breakfast
  • 9 AM: Yoga class
  • 8 AM – 12 PM: Take down the tents
  • 1 PM: Group photo and departure

  • 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm: Workshops in rotation (3 X 20 minutes)
  • 4:30 pm to 5 pm: Camp Cooking 5 pm to 10 pm: night activities
  • 5 pm: Dinner • 7 pm: camping games exhibition tournament
  • 8 pm: Campfire workshop
  • 8:30 pm to 10 pm: Marshmallows around the campfire and Vélo Paradisio
  • 10 pm: Curfew

Sunday

  • 8 am: Breakfast
  • 9 am: Yoga class

Discover these contemporary First Nations works selected by Indigenous commissioners from the collection of short films by Wapikoni mobile and Musique nomade. These mobile screenings by Vélo Paradiso are presented using a fleet of cargo tricycles equipped with projectors and large screens.
