Winter trail at the Lachine Canal
Snowshoeing, on foot, by bike... get outside for a breath of fresh air and enjoy the best of winter!
Winter sports are at the forefront this January at the Lachine Canal; Parks Canada is proud to launch a winter trail pilot project this winter along the waterway.
A 10-km winter trail extending from the Gauron and Lafleur bridges to de la Commune Street enables young and old to enjoy winter's pleasures in the enchanting setting of the Lachine Canal. This initiative is possible thanks to a partnership between Parks Canada and the City of Montreal.
For more information about the trail conditions, visit the Trail conditions and Safety page.
The City of Montréal is also clearing the path from snow on a 2.5-km section on the North side of the canal, between Atwater Footbridge and de la Commune Street.
