The village of Carillon has retained an early 19th century feeling. Close to the huge lock are the Superintendent's House and Barracks, which is now a museum. Also worthy for visiting are the many houses of that era that line the village's main street.
Enjoy a picnic in the charming park by the old lock or relax outdoors. The site is ideal for both pleasure boaters and walkers.
