Info-Work: Inspections at Hamlet Bridge

Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site

April 6, 2017 (Peterborough, ON) – The Hamlet Bridge on the Severn River will be closed on Wednesday, April 12 between the hours of 9AM and 3PM for ongoing inspections that will support future construction work. In the case of inclement weather, the closure will take place on Thursday, April 13.

The Hamlet Bridge is located at 1941 Peninsula Point Road, between the Townships of Severn and Gravenhurst. Motorists are asked to plan their routes accordingly.

These inspections are part of ongoing investigations of the bridge and the surrounding area and will help to determine the scope of future construction and reparation work on the bridge. More details on repair or reconstruction, and schedule, will be shared as they become available.

This work on the Hamlet Bridge is part of Parks Canada’s unprecedented $3 billion investment to support infrastructure work to heritage, visitor, waterway, and highway assets located within national historic sites, national parks and national marine conservations areas across Canada.
