Update: Closure of Glen Ross Swing Bridge (On Glen Ross Road) Begins December 5, 2017

Peterborough, Ontario, December 5, 2017 – The Glen Ross Swing Bridge, located at Glen Ross Lock 7 of the Trent Severn Waterway National Historic Site, is now closed so that the bridge can undergo major repairs. Work on the Glen Ross swing bridge and lock is expected to continue until the spring of 2018.

Construction signage has been installed and a detour route is in place. Additionally, a temporary pedestrian crossing has been installed to ensure foot traffic across the waterway is maintained for the duration of the bridge closure.

Parks Canada would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding as we complete this important infrastructure work. These historic investments will mitigate health and safety risks, protect nationally significant built heritage, and help stimulate the economy.
