HMCS Haida is pleased to offer a variety of guided one-hour tours of the ship. Get up close and personal with Canada’s “Fightingest Ship” and explore amazing behind-the-scenes compartments!

All Hands on Deck

Fee: General admission plus $7.30 per person
Under 6 is free!

Offered in May and June on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 pm
Offered in July and August every day at 11 am and 2 pm

Everything you need to know about HMCS Haida but were afraid to ask! Experience a little bit of everything on this exciting main deck tour. Learn how our torpedoes fire. Discover how the ship was provisioned for long journeys at sea. Appreciate how the ship’s company lived and served in some of the most important battles on the world stage, and earned its reputation as the Royal Canadian Navy’s “Fightingest Ship.”

The Secret Life of a Sailor

Fee: General admission plus $7.30 per person

Offered on request in July and August for groups of 8 to 12

Wakey Wakey, Lash Up and Stow! What was daily life like for a sailor? Where was all the food kept to feed 230 sailors? In this tour, step into the mess decks, wash place, galley, and for those brave enough, down to the fridges to see how sailors lived, how they ate, and how they entertained themselves while at sea.

*The ladders used to access these spaces are long and steep, so this tour is not recommended for visitors under the age of twelve. Active footwear required.

Fire Punching

Fee: General admission plus $7.30 per person

 What’s a stoker? How do the engines work? What is super-heated steam? Find the answers to all of these questions and more as we descend into the “belly of the beast” to survey the boiler, engine, and gear rooms.
