NIAGARA SHORELINE PROTECTION
SITE AND PARKING LOT TEMPORARY CLOSURE

NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ONTARIO, July 13, 2018 – A section (100 m) of the north shore of Fort Mississauga National Historic Site, including the parking lot near Queen and Newark Streets, will be closed starting Monday, July 16th until the end of September 2018, for the purpose of shoreline protection work. The area will be an active construction zone, and visitor access to the surrounding site and parking lot are not permitted during this time.

Parks Canada manages one of the finest and most extensive systems of protected natural and cultural heritage areas in the world. Through the implementation of shoreline protection measures, Parks Canada is ensuring public safety, preserving cultural heritage, and preventing additional shoreline erosion at Fort Mississauga NHS. 

Visitor safety is a top priority for Parks Canada. Visitors are advised to exercise caution and respect all closures.
