  • U.S. Garrison Weekend

    10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. 

    Following our British Garrison weekend, the fort then switches sides to tell the story of Fort George when it was under control of the United States in 1813 following the British defeat at the Battle of Fort George. U.S. re-enactors descend on Fort George for a weekend of training and demonstrations. Like their British counterparts, they would be happy to answer any questions on becoming a re-enactor and joining their ranks to share in their passion for telling this important part of Canadian and U.S. history.

  • War of 1812 Officers’ Day

    Fort George is filled with pomp and circumstance as War of 1812 re-enactors show what life was like in Upper Canada for the “upper class”. Beautiful uniforms and décor will adorn the Officers’ Quarters with demonstrations happening throughout the day.

      To commemorate the First World War, Parks Canada and re-enactors from across North America will bring Fort George National Historic Site back to its Camp Niagara roots with displays and demonstrations honouring those who fought in the “war to end all wars”. Demonstrations happening throughout day!

      Join us for the 25th anniversary of our annual Fife & Drum Muster and Soldiers' Field Day! Fife and drum corps and infantry units converge at Fort George National Historic Site, showcasing the military music and drills of the early 19th century. This weekend-long event has become an annual tradition at Fort George, and is packed with firing demonstrations, music, and entertainment.

      Europe comes to Canada as Napoleon’s army descends on Fort George for a weekend of muskets and majesty. Napoleonic style French uniforms will adorn Fort George with demonstrations and battle re-enactments happening both days.
