The Commons Market

The Commons Market is a one-day outdoor antiques and artisans festival. Enjoy local wines, craft beers, and gourmet food truck offerings while roaming through a field of vintage, antique, reclaimed, and up-cycled furniture, housewares, jewelry, and collectibles.

Jane Austen Tea Party: Northanger Abbey

Free Admission Day

This one’s on us!

In 2017, to celebrate Canada 150, Parks Canada offered free admission and welcomed over 27 million visitors to our national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites. What better way to say “thank you” to our visitors than to offer a free admission day?

Admission is already free on Canada Day, but we’re adding another day for you to enjoy your favourite activities without paying any admission fees.

Fife & Drum Muster & Soldiers' Field Day

Fort George National Historic Site

August 18 to 19, 10 am to 5 pm

Join us for the 18th annual Fife & Drum Muster and Soldiers' Field Day! Fife and drum corps and infantry units from historic sites across Canada and the United States will converge on Fort George National Historic Site, showcasing the military music and drills of the early 19th century. A weekend-long event packed with firepower demonstrations, music and entertainment.

Fee: General admission plus $3.90 per person.

Echoes of Niagara’s Past: A Military Timeline Event

August 25 to 26, 10 am to 5 pm

Join us as Parks Canada and the Lincoln and Welland Regimental Museum commemorate over 200 years of Niagara's military history. The Fort comes alive as interpreters, animators and veterans display uniforms, weaponry and vehicles from the War of 1812, World War I, World War II and other historic time periods. Demonstrations will be happening throughout the day.

Fee: General admission plus $3.90 per person.

5th Annual Grand Canadian Steampunk Exposition

September 21 to 23

A Grand Exposition of Canadian Steampunk grandeur, a festival of epic proportions, sights and sounds to entertain and delight... all this and more. Three days of Canadian Steampunk amazement and astonishment in southern Ontario, featuring a night time concert (performers to be announced)! A largely-outdoor Steampunk festival within a War of 1812 Canadian fort, with activities, presentations and workshops for all ages and interests.

Battle of Queenston Heights Commemorative Tours

October 6 to 7, 10 am to 5 pm

Join the Friends of Fort George and Parks Canada as we commemorate the 206th Anniversary of the Battle of Queenston Heights, and the death of Major-General Sir Isaac Brock, Saviour of Upper Canada.

Brock's Monument will be open from 10 am to 5 pm. Enjoy guided tours of the battle site and climb the 235 steps to the top to take in the scenic view of Queenston Heights!

New Year's Day Levee

January 1, 2019, 3 pm to 4:30 pm

Join Parks Canada and the Friends of Fort George as we ring in the New Year at Navy Hall! Levee celebrations start at 3 pm, and include toasts, music by the 41st Regiment Fife and Drum Corps, and a cannon firing to welcome the New Year!
