Some Parks Canada places have begun a safe, gradual reopening of some outdoor areas and services, including camping. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and be well-prepared for their visit. Details here.

Just a 20 minute drive from downtown Halifax, York Redoubt National Historic Site is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. between June 25th and the first Monday in September (Labour Day). Ample parking is available and admission is free. Visitors should be mindful of the rocky and wooded terrain. Due to the location’s variable seaside climate temperatures can change frequently; bringing a warm jacket is recommended.
