Situated in one of the most vibrant cities on the east coast, the Halifax Citadel has much to offer first time and frequent visitors alike. It is a central part of the city, impossible to miss from the harbour and easily accessible by car or foot. First time visitors should plan a minimum of two hours to explore; history buffs can spend the day taking in all that the Halifax Citadel has to offer.

Public Wi-Fi available in the outdoor areas of the site (Parade Square, Cavalier Building porch) but not in the interior spaces/exhibits.
Please note that Halifax Citadel National Historic Site is now a smoke-free space, excepting two designated smoking areas. See "Cannabis, smoking and vaping" for details.
