As he watched seagulls fly overhead in Scotland, Alexander Graham Bell dreamt that one day he too would fly. He built kites of all different shapes and sizes, and flew them on the hillsides of Beinn Bhreagh, his Cape Breton home. Eventually, his love of kites led him to work on other flying machines, and then airplanes, but everything started with a few simple materials and a bit of a breeze. In our Come Fly a Kite workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to build and decorate a sled kite that will be yours to keep.

Afterwards, if the day is clear and the wind is right, you can bring your kite outside and watch it take to the air!
