Masks are required while on board the ferry and when visiting indoor public spaces, including the tunnels.

Georges Island is located in the middle of Halifax Harbour. Travel to the island on the ferry to Georges Island with Murphy's on the Water in Halifax, by private boat, canoe, or kayak.

Plan to spend one to two hours on the island, taking in the views of Halifax and exploring Fort Charlotte.

Directions

Georges Island is accessible by sea only. There are two ways to visit:

  • Take the ferry to Georges Island with Murphy's on the Water.
    Book tickets with Murphy's on the Water online, by calling 902-420-1015, or by visiting one of the Murphy’s on the Water kiosk locations on the Halifax waterfront.
  • Travel to the island by private boat, canoe, or kayak.

Murphy's on the Water offers excursions that include travel to and from the island and Parks Canada admission fees.

Parks Canada admission fees apply to visitors arriving by private boat, canoe, or kayak.
