Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site is a 20 minute drive from downtown St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador. Though the site is accessible year round, tours and exhibits are available from mid-May to mid-October. Plan on a half-day to explore the lighthouse and Second World War gun emplacements, and view wildlife and icebergs. Allow a full day for longer headland hikes. Cape Spear is also a starting point for multi-day East Coast Trail hikes.
