If physical distancing is not possible on narrow staircases and paths, trail users are asked to yield to passing visitors until the way is clear.
Visitors are asked to plan ahead by checking the website for each national historic site before they travel to find out what is open, what they can expect, and how to prepare for their visit.
The health and safety of visitors and employees is of utmost importance to the Government of Canada. Parks Canada is following the advice of public health experts and continues to make every effort to limit the spread of COVID-19. Visitors should follow the advice of public health experts, including necessary hygiene practices and physical distancing from others.
Some national historic sites may reduce the number of visitors allowed to enter at one time to ensure physical distancing and some areas, rooms or buildings may remain closed for health and safety reasons.
Visitors are reminded to be aware of local or provincial/territorial public health authority requirements on the use of non-medical masks in all indoor public spaces.
The Parks Canada website provides detailed information on what locations are open, what visitors can expect, how to prepare for a visit and what services may be available. Visitors should check pc.gc.ca before they travel.

Public Access Closed at Signal Hill and Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Sites
Parks Canada is advising that public access to Signal Hill and Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Sites is closed until further notice.
The recent snow accumulations in the local region has created a significant buildup of snow along vehicle routes and parking lots at both sites causing these areas to be inaccessible and posing a significant risk to public safety.
Public safety is a top priority for Parks Canada. Motorists and pedestrians are requested to avoid these sites and respect barriers placed at entrances to both Signal Hill and Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Sites.
