Bonavista, Newfoundland and Labrador, is approximately 300 kilometres (200 miles) – a 3.5 hour drive - from the provincial capital of St. John's.
The Ryan Premises exhibits and displays are open June 1 to early September though it is possible to stroll the grounds year round. Plan at least a half day to visit the exhibits and take part in hands-on demonstrations, leaving extra time to stroll the town, harbour and wharf.

Starting at St. John's, follow the TransCanada Highway west to Clarenville. At Clarenville, take route 230, the Discovery Trail, to the Town of Bonavista, then follow the signs. As an alternate route, take route 230 from Clarenville, turn onto route 235 at Southern Bay and follow route 235 straight to the Ryan Premises.
