As of August 20, Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site Historic Grounds and Buildings will be closed to the public in order to begin construction work that is part of the Federal Infrastructure Investment program.
Investments in the preservation and restoration of national historic sites like Lower Fort Garry will protect our heritage and strengthen their appeal as a destination to celebrate our country’s diverse and storied history, including the history and culture of Indigenous people.
Visitor safety is a priority at all Parks Canada places, to minimize potential safety risks associated with construction, Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site will be closing early the season. The site will remain closed for the duration of the 2018 operational season and will re-open in spring 2019.

Provisions Market and Café in the Lower Fort Garry Visitor Centre is currently closed due to a water pipe break. Provisions Market and Cafe will reopen on Saturday, August 19.
