Celebrate the end-of-summer season at Lower Fort Garry!
Join us on August 17 for the first annual Harvest Fest. As the sun sets on summer, Lower Fort Garry comes to life for the bountiful harvest season.
Shop the Makers’ Market, where local artisans, vendors and farmers sell their handcrafted goods. Stroll through the historic grounds and get a peek at a 19th-century blacksmith in action. Take in a fur demonstration and learn how the local Cree and Ojibway peoples used different pelts to prepare for the long Red River winters.
You can try your hand at a historic trade like candle pulling or bannock baking in one of our heritage workshops (additional workshop fee of $7.30 per person).
Bring your hearty appetite! Food trucks will be available on site, for additional purchase.
Entry to the site is free and open to all. We hope to see you there!
Hours: 12 - 8 pm.
