Costumed interpreters return for the season and bring life and excitement to the Fort.

July 1: Canada Day: Métis Friendship Celebration

Celebrate Canada's birthday at Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site! Join us for a fun-filled day of square dancing, fiddle playing, relay races and much more! Activities from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

July 13 and 27: Stories at Sunset

Friday nights are for campfires! Take part in Lower Fort Garry’s newest event: Stories at Sunset! Gather around the campfire for an evening filled with music, stories, and games. Bring your family to the Fort on Friday, July 13 and 27, from 7-9pm. Cost: $4.90 person

August 3: Treaty No. 1 Commemoration Free admission day

Explore the history surrounding the making of Treaty No. 1. In 1871, representatives of the Crown, Anishinaabe, and Muskegon Cree peoples made a commitment to each other with the first of the numbered treaties in western Canada.
