Parks Canada has prepared a new management plan for The Forks National Historic Site.
Parks Canada management plans are forward-looking documents that provide a vision of a site at its future best and the strategies for getting there. The new management plan will guide Parks Canada's decisions and actions in protecting, presenting and operating the site over a 10-year period.
Indigenous, stakeholder and public engagement was held throughout June and July 2017. Participants were invited to share their views and opinions on the new plan. Their comments and opinions are reflected in the final draft plan, which is currently being prepared for presentation to the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change who is responsible for Parks Canada, and it will be tabled in Parliament shortly.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the writing and who provided feedback on the new management plan. Once the plan has been approved, it will replace the management plan found on this website.
