Canada Day

Join us every July 1 for a huge party to celebrate Canada's birthday. In collaboration with the Confluence Heritage Society, the site hosts entertainment, dancing, a marketplace, storytelling, contests and a spectacular fireworks display. Site entry is free all day.

Western Festival

August 17-18, 2019. Visit the national historic site for a weekend of western fun! All activities happening both Saturday and Sunday.

Howdy visitors! Please join the Confluence Heritage Society and Parks Canada for a free pancake breakfast between 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Experience a Canadian tradition since 1876 with the RCMP Musical Ride, a troop of 32 scarlet coated “Mounties” on majestic black horses, presenting a show of intricate figures and cavalry drills choreographed to music. The show starts at 11:00 am. Presented by West Country Family Services. For information and tickets contact 403-845-2033. 

Enjoy all-day western demonstrations. Learn how to get geared up western style with Parks Canada’s Ya Ha Tinda Ranch’s horse packing demonstrations. See real life cowboy history with horse and wagon farming demonstrations by Bar U National Historic Site.
