General Rules and Regulations

  1. All vehicles are to stop at the self-register kiosk(s) to register/pay for their camping permit before proceeding to their campsite.
  2. Camping permits must be displayed in yellow boxes at occupied site. 
  3. Drivers must obey the Highway Traffic Act, posted speed limits,  signs and be aware of pedestrians, especially children at all times.  All-Terrain Vehicles are strictly prohibited in the National Historic site, including the campground.
  4. Generator use is permitted between 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  5. Campsites must be kept clean and tidy at all times. Deposit all garbage in proper receptacles located within the campground.
  6. Every person using the campground or day use facility shall maintain it in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
  7. Unauthorized use of fireworks and other explosives is strictly prohibited in the National Historic Site.
  8. Maximum stay per site is 14 days
  9. Leave it for others to enjoy - Whatever treasure you find – be it a rock, a flower, or an arrowhead – it belongs where it is.

 

Campsites

  1. Check-in time is after 2:00 p.m. and Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
  2. Campsite permit holders must be at least 18 years of age.
  3. The permit holder is responsible for the conduct and behavior of their family and guests.
  4. A maximum of 6 persons are permitted per campsite, unless it is a single family of parents and their children living at the same address.
  5. Where space permits, a maximum of 3 pieces of shelter equipment is allowed per campsite. Only one of which may be a travel trailer, tent trailer, camper van, motor home.
  6. Quiet time is from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Campfires are only allowed in the fire pits provided at each campsite, do not move fire pits.
  7. One picnic table per site is provided, if moved please return to designated site.

 

Campsite Visitors

  1. All visitors to the campground must park in the additional vehicle parking areas
  2. Day visitors must leave the campground by 11:00 p.m.
  3. Overnight visitors must pay a site camping fee. 

 

Alcoholic Beverages

  1. Alcohol may only be consumed on a registered campsite.
  2. Alcohol is not permitted in day-use or public areas including picnic shelters.
  3. During July long weekend, a complete ban on the possession of alcohol is in effect.

Cannabis

During July long weekend, a compete ban on the possession of cannabis in effect.

Firewood

Please help us protect our forests and do not bring firewood from home. Moving firewood, even just a few kilometres away, can spread invasive and destructive insect species to our forests. Firewood is available for purchase for onsite.  Any remaining firewood shall not leave the conservation area. Use only firewood provided.

It is illegal to collect or burn any wood from the forest.  Even twigs and deadwood play an important role in the forest ecosystem!

 

Pets

  1. Pets must be on a leash at all times.
  2. Pets are not to make excessive noise or disturb other persons
  3. Please pick up after your pets, Doggies bags are located at several different areas of the site.
