Guided walking tour
Discover the historic headquarters of Bar U Ranch National Historic Site.
Your own heritage interpreter rolls away the years of national significance of the Northwest Cattle Company from 1882-1950, exploring the inner workings of the development of the ranching industry in Canada. You’ll be amazed at the tales of survival and ingenuity as the Bar U found itself a place on the world map.
Rancher’s rest stop
Need to stop and stretch your legs?
An interpreter will greet your group on horseback at that Visitor centre. Their 20-minute presentation will tell the history of Bar U Ranch, and answer any questions the group may have.
Explore the Visitor centre and its educational displays, gift shop and don’t forget to grab a snack at the Bar U Café!
Reigns of History wagon tour
Dare to go beyond the beaten path. Climb aboard a wagon pulled by Percheron horses – the breed that made the Bar U famous!
Set off on a one-hour excursion through the Ranch’s historic core. Hear amazing tales and take in the breathtaking vistas of the Rocky Mountain foothills.
