Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park

The shores of the St. Lawrence, near Les Escoumins, are considered one of the most beautiful underwater landscapes in North America. Discover what lies beneath the surface of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park. The variety and abundance of colours of the fauna and flora will surprise you. 

Visit the Quebec Federation of Underwater Activities diving base at the Marine Environment Discovery Centre.

Nordic snorkeling

Early June to early September
2-3 hours

Brave the cold waters of the St. Lawrence and explore the seabed in search of polar sea stars and other curious and colourful animals and plants.

Details

  • No special qualifications are required.
  • You must be 14 years of age or older, and there must be a minimum of two people.
  • Equipment included
  • The activity is best done at low tide, but can be done at any time during business hours. 
     

Reservation

Reservations are recommended for visitors, but mandatory for corporate and commercial groups.

Initiation to scuba diving

End of June to mid-October
3 hours

Go on an adventure in the underwater world of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park in complete safety in the company of an experienced guide.

  • No special qualifications are required.
  • You must be 14 years of age or older, and there must be a minimum of two people.

Reservation

Reservations are required for all divers at least two weeks before the planned dive date.

You have your own equipment as well as a cold-water diving certification; three launches are available to you.

Stop by and say hi to our specialists at the dive base before getting wet. They will have several tips for you.
