Cannery Farmers’ Market
Held indoors in the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, this winter market offers visitors the chance to wander among tables featuring baked goods, preserves and local arts and crafts. Check for details on canneryfarmersmarket.org
Spring Break at the Cannery
Join in our drop-in workshops from 1-3pm on weekdays March 16 to 27, with daily fishy themes (included in regular admission)! Don’t forget to pick up a Parks Canada Xplorers booklet for fun activities to do in the Cannery, with a souvenir prize when you’re done! The Xplorers activity booklet is complimentary with all Youth admissions.
Easter at the Cannery!
Join the Easter Scavenger Hunt inside the Cannery museum for prizes + kids’ activities and more. Look for appearances by the Easter Salmon!

Feature Exhibit "Trading Routes: Fish, Rivers and Oil"
Opening on April 11, the Cannery's 2015 feature exhibit focuses on the ecology and cultural changes caused by industry and development along Northern BC’s "grease trails,” the First Nations’ eulachon oil trading routes. This exhibit will enhance understanding of the impact of industrial development on BC’s salmon bearing rivers; the Fraser, Skeena, Nass, and Stikine. Through interactive technology, visitors will be able to explore the changing resource use of each river and how these have impacted wildlife habitat over the past 100 years.

Canada Day at the Cannery/ Steveston Salmon Festival

Music Nights at the Cannery
Join us every Friday evening for our summer concert series. A wide range of musical tastes will be represented. Admission by donation ($5 and up).
Best Catch Sustainable Seafood Festival
The fourth annual edition of the Best Catch Sustainable Seafood Festival will be held at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site on September 14 (Saturday) from 11am to 4pm. The festival will help you to discover which seafood choices are best for the planet, while cooking demonstrations by famous local chefs will show you which are most delicious! The cooking demonstrations will take place at the top of each hour, and there will be a variety of musical acts performing on the half hour. After visiting “Best Catch” stroll down to the public wharf and pick up some fresh seafood and try one of the demonstration recipes when you get home.

Santa at the Cannery
The holiday spirit comes to Steveston with the arrival of Santa by boat! After his arrival, Santa will make his way to the Cannery to take photos with the kids.
