Banff Upper Hot Springs

Location : Banff National Park, Alberta

One of Banff National Park's greatest traditions is visiting the Upper Hot Springs for a soothing soak in the hot, mineral-rich water. Relaxing in the outdoor pool among the jagged peaks of Rundle and Cascade Mountains is a magical experience that has drawn visitors to Banff since 1886.

Pro tip

Transit is the easiest way to enjoy those hot springs. From downtown Banff take route 1 “Sulphur Mountain”. Buses run every 20 minutes during our regular hours of operation.

Miette Hot Springs

Location : Jasper National Park, Alberta

Miette Hot Springs features the hottest hot springs in the Canadian Rockies.The natural hot springs water flows from the mountain at 54°C (129°F), the water is then cooled to a comfortable temperature of 40°C (104°F). Whether it is the quiet peaceful panorama surrounding the hot springs or the scenic drive along the wild Fiddle valley, this unique experience will keep you coming back year after year.

The hot pools experience on Gandll K’in Gwaay.yaay has long been recognized as being able to comfort, heal and nourish body and soul. The views south across Juan Perez Sound from the pools are amazing, with the odd spout(s) surfacing nearby from visiting pods of SGaana (killer whales) or glimpses of globally rare seabirds flying or swimming by.

Broken Skull Hot Springs

Location : Nááts'įhch'oh National Park Reserve, Northwest Territories

Visit a sacred place of healing

Rejuvenate tired muscles with a soak in Pı̨́ı̨́p'enéh łéetǫ́ǫ́ Gaǫfáá (Broken Skull Hot Springs). This 2.5 km trek along unmarked trails rewards you with a natural Nordic spa experience – two different temperature natural thermal pools, with a cold plunge in the nearby creek. Pay the land and give thanks by providing an offering (a small amount of tea or tobacco) as you cross the creek on your way to the hot springs.

Kraus Hotsprings

Location : Nahanni National Park Reserve, Northwest Territories

Relax in the Kraus Hotsprings and appreciate the effort it took to get there – these springs are only accessible by paddle! Unwind with stunning mountain views, right along the South Nahanni River’s edge. It’s easy to replicate a spa-like hot/cold experience by going from the cold river to the rewarding heat of the springs.
