  • May 19, 2011 – Happy Birthday Parks Canada!
    The Centennial Launch on May 19 will be a media event in the Capital region to launch the celebrations for the year to come and to make a special announcement.
  • May 21, 2011 – Centennial Launch Event
    “The Parks Canada Experience”
    For the first time ever, Canada’s iconic places, symbols and stories will come alive in a truly urban setting to launch Parks Canada’s nation-wide Centennial Celebrations!
  • June 18, 2011 – Learn to Camp
    A “Learn to Camp” experience, a nationwide urban camping event aimed at introducing participants to camping and related activities. In each of these cities, one hundred participants will be invited: Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal, Québec and Halifax.

  • July 1, 2011 – Canada Day
    Doors Open on Canada Day” in all national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas managed by Parks Canada and “Canada Day in the Capital”, this year featuring the centennial of Parks Canada.

  • July 16, 2011 – Parks Day
    One hundred activities – “100 for the Centennial” – will mark Parks Day in Parks Canada locations across the country.

    Parks’ Day, Doors Open in all national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas managed by Parks Canada, featuring free entry, special events and fun for the whole family all across Canada.

    Also on Parks Day don't miss Parks Canada Celebrations in Montreal , Toronto and Vancouver, featuring free outdoor concerts and Parks Canada activities!

  • August 19 to 21, 2011 – Fab Forts Weekend
    Fab Forts Weekend, inspired by the 300th birthday of the completion of Fort Chambly, is a coast to coast national celebration of historic forts managed by Parks Canada. Before you head out, just have a look at the great list of activities we have set out for you! You won't want to miss the 100-gun salute for Parks Canada centennial on Sunday, August 21, at 2:30 pm (local time)!
    Parks Canada is offering Canada’s military, veterans and their families free admission to Canada’s national historic sites, national parks and national marine conservation areas.
