Sweeping photo murals of Vuntut National Park and the Old Crow Flats welcome travellers arriving at the Old Crow airport, thanks to a new exhibit that highlights the park and its cultural significance to the Gwitchin people. The airport exhibit features caribou antlers, local beadwork, historic photos of community members sharing Gwitchin traditions, and modern images of a community adapting to global changes. It also presents a timeline showing many thousands of years of the Gwitchin peoples’ continuous connection to the land.

The new display was launched with a community celebration in October 2015 and has received a tremendously positive response. It was created through the ongoing partnership between Parks Canada, the Vuntut Gwitchin Government, and the North Yukon Renewable Resources Council, who cooperatively manage Vuntut National Park.
