Rafting down the Alsek River, a Canadian Heritage river, is quickly becoming one of the most popular activities in Kluane National Park & Reserve. Starting on the Dezadeash River, an upper tributary of the Alsek, rafters can enjoy the wilderness of glaciers and grizzlies with minimal disruption. There are commercial companies who offer 3 - 14 day trips down this spectacular river.
The Alsek River flows through Kluane National Park & Reserve in the Yukon, Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park in British Columbia and Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve in Alaska. Separate fees apply to each of the three parks that you will be travelling through. Be sure you have the latest information on fees and registration procedures by contacting these agencies directly.
