Enhancing Backcountry Experiences
Prince Albert National Park is committed to providing wilderness-like backcountry experiences for those willing to venture there. Designated backcountry campgrounds found throughout the Park facilitate these outdoor excursions and serve to minimize impact in high use areas.
As of May 18, 2012, two additional Backcountry Camping regulations will be put in place to enhance the experience these areas are intended to offer.
- Use of generators in the backcountry is prohibited.
- Campsite capacity is 6 persons (unless a family unit consisting of adult(s) with dependent children).
All backcountry camping is done on a first come first serve basis, and requires that a backcountry camping permit be obtained from the Visitor Centre on the day you are departing for your trip.
National park fees, collected year round, are reinvested into the quality services and facilities you enjoy:
- Groomed ski trails
- Enclosed kitchen shelters
- Interpretive activities
- Picnic tables
- Hibachis
- Viewing Towers
Park entry permits can be purchased at the Visitor Centre, the East and South Gate automated pay machines.
