O Canada! Join us in Waskesiu and help us celebrate our nation’s 148th birthday. 2015 also marks the 50th birthday of the Canadian flag. For 50 years our distinctive and unique maple leaf flag has united Canadians and served as a symbol of our national identity to the world. Come and wave a Canadian flag in Waskesiu on Canada Day!
Park entry is free on Canada Day! Start the day at the pancake breakfast, watch our great parade, and join us for flag raising and some birthday cake.

Join the Waskesiu Marina Adventure Center for a fun filled day of paddling and music at the Hanging Heart Lakes. Bring your paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes or reserve a boat ahead of time from the Waskesiu Marina Adventure Centre. Paddle to different destinations on the Hanging Heart Lakes to be eligible for terrific prizes. There are even prizes for best theme or costumes!

The good old days of Waskesiu are brought to life at Heritage Days. Living in a shack tent, old fashion games like sack races and treats like grandma makes are all waiting for you at the Waskesiu Heritage Museum’s Heritage Days.

Triathletes compete by swimming 1.5 km in Waskesiu Lake; hitting the road for a 62 km bicycle ride, and then running 13 km run in and around the town site of Waskesiu. The morning starts with a pancake breakfast at the community hall.

The community of Waskesiu comes alive with the first Waskesiu Lakeside Festival! The event brings together bands, buskers, and nature activities in a family-friendly gathering by the lake. With an outdoor stage showcasing prairie talent, interactive street performances, and paddling demonstrations you’ll experience a whole new side of Saskatchewan’s playground.
The Waskesiu Lakeside Festival promises to be unlike any other festival; it offers all the conveniences of a small community in the heart of the beautiful boreal forest. From the waterfront festival grounds you are within walking distance of restaurants, campgrounds, shops, trails, and a number of cabin or hotel rentals.
Access to The Waskesiu Lakeside Festival and all activities are free with paid park entry. Bring some sunscreen and enjoy music, food, and fun over this 3 day festival.

A weekend of movie magic, Waskesiu style! Feature films, shorts and documentaries are screened at the Twin Pine Cinemas in the heart of Waskesiu. Social engagements are scheduled throughout the festival giving you the opportunity to discuss the films with other festival patrons.
Now entering its 11th year, the Reel Rave Film Festival is a fundraising endeavor for Prince Albert’s Mann Art Gallery. The festival is part of the Toronto International Film Festivals Film Circuit.

The MS Society Bike Tour is a fabulous one day tour with breathtaking scenery. This fundraising event supports the Canadian MS society and their work in overcoming Multiple Sclerosis. The 66KM tour route begins and ends at the Waskesiu Community Hall in Prince Albert National Park.
