Art in the Park - Artist in Residence

Lila Cano, July 12 - 17, 2012

“The arts are magic. It is my calling to remind people why we must have magic in our lives. Our hearts and minds are hungry for it.” Lila’s contributions in theatre, play creation, community arts, arts education, writing and music are big in a very small way. For 34 years, she has been inspiring and creating art throughout Northwestern Ontario. Her work is absolutely connected to the strongest place of all - home.

Lake Superior Drama

  • Saturday, July 14, 2012, 2pm – 4pm

Get ready for your close up with an afternoon of drama games and exercises with Lila Cano. Develop dramatic techniques to use at a skit around the campfire, or to join Sunday’s play creation.

Pukaskwa Play

  • Sunday, July 15, 10am -4pm, with a 2pm performance

Be part of a production on Pukaskwa’s shores. Under Lila’s guidance and leadership, be part of a Pukaskwa original production. Write, rehearse, and perform a short theatrical piece in front of the dramatic backdrop of Hattie Cove.

What to bring: Lunch/snack, creativity and courage.
What we supply: Props, costumes, and inspiration.
