Festival of Birds
May 1 – 18

Celebrate the wonder of spring migration at Point Pelee National Park during May 2015. The park is a major resting point for warblers, vireos and other songbirds. Join us for special hikes, including Lake Watching at Point Pelee and Bird Photography Walks. Visit friendsofpointpelee.com for more information on birding hikes and other workshops for both novice and seasoned birders.

Dark Sky Night
May 16

8 p.m., Visitor Centre Parking lot: Join a park interpreter to learn about the fascinate American Woodcock and watch their amazing courtship flight.

9 p.m., Visitor Centre parking lot: Join members of the Royal Astronomical Society for a star gazing and see the stars birds use to navigate on migration. For more information: Dark Sky Nights.

Dark Sky Night
June 6, Park open to midnight

Enjoy warm breezes and starry skies as you wander the park after dark. Listen for frogs and toads at the marsh and other voices in the nocturnal chorus. For more information: Dark Sky Nights.

Kayak Demo with Pelee Wings

Marsh Boardwalk, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Join the experts from Pelee Wings Paddlesports and try out some different kayaks for a short paddle. All safety equipment provided.

Canada Day
July 1

Celebrate Canada’s 148th birthday at one of its best known landmarks, Point Pelee National Park. We have packed all kinds of fun events into the day. Join an activity or take a break and have a relaxing picnic in the park with friends and family. Best of all – admission to the park on July 1st is FREE!

Pelee Picnic
July 4 - 5

Summer is here and it’s time for a party. Join members of the Point Pelee team for two fun-filled days at White Pine picnic area. Enjoy a bouncy castle, games and a festive atmosphere with the back drop of lush Carolinian forest. The Friends of Point Pelee will be on hand to sell a delicious hot dog lunch – bring out the entire family and create some lasting memories. Free with park admission.

Become a nature explorer this summer at Point Pelee National Park. Canoe, bike, swim and learn about the wonders of Point Pelee. Dark Sky Weekend
July 18 - 19

Explore the universe from Point Pelee! Look at the surface of the sun, visit the portable planetarium, watch a special theatre and enjoy an evening of star gazing with astronomers. For more information: Dark Sky Nights.

Sciensational Sssnakes!
August 1 - 2

Are you curious about the secret lives of reptiles? Interested in where they live or what they eat? Point Pelee National Park is pleased to welcome Sciensational Sssnakes!! which provides hands-on education about reptiles and amphibians to audiences of all ages. Their presentation will include information about the animals, their ecology and conservation issues as well as a session in which participants are able to interact, touch and hold the animals. The team will be on hand with a variety of reptiles, some of which can be found in Point Pelee National Park.

We’re staying open to watch the peak of one of the most exciting meteor showers of the entire year. Join members of the Royal Astronomical Society to watch the exciting show. For more information: Dark Sky Nights.

Paddle Weekend
August 22 - 23

Saturday, August 22: Take a paddle in a 16-passenger Montreal Canoe – join members of the Windsor-Essex Canoe club and paddle through the marsh.

Sunday, August 23: Paddling Workshop – Join a park interpreter and learn some basic paddling skills, while enjoying the beauty of the marsh.
