Bunting, Lark (Provincial Rarety)
-Calamospiza melanocorys (Stejneger)
Bill quite large, deeper than broad at its base. Adult male: Mostly plain black, the middle and great wing coverts white, forming a contrasting patch; tertials edged with white; some white on tips of inner webs of some tail feathers; bill bluish grey. Adult female: Upper parts greyish brown streaked with dusky; wings and tail dusky, wing patch much smaller and more buffy than that of the male; white spot near tip of inner web of some tail feathers; sides of head with pale line over eye and brownish ear patch; under parts white, the breast and sides streaked with dusky and with a blackish line down either side of throat.
