Pelican, American White (Local Rarety)
-Pelecanus erythrorhynchos Gmelin
Adult: bill long, flattened, with very conspicuous pouch, and in the breeding season an upright horny process on the culmen. Plumage mostly white with wing tips black. Breast and lesser wing coverts with narrow lanceolate feather tinged yellow. Bill and pouch yellow with reddish tinge. Bare skin around eyes orange; eyelids red. Feet orange-red.
