-Phalacrocorax auritus (Lesson)
Bill rather long, slender, hooked. Tail feathers, twelve. Feathers on hind edge of throat pouch not impinging in a point on its bare skin. Mainly shiny greenish-black, the feathers of upper back and wing coverts bronzy with black margins. Naked throat pouch and skin around and in front of eye, orange-yellow. Spring adults have an inconspicuous tuft of feathers on either side of head.
