Gull, Ross's (Provincial Rarety)
Tail distinctly wedge-shaped. Adults: Mantle grey, secondaries white-tipped; primaries grey, but outer web of outermost is black; wing linings bluish grey; fine black collar around neck; rest of plumage white with distinct shrimp-pink tinge, strongest on breat and belly; bill black, legs red. In winter lacks black neck ring; white parts less pinkish. First-year birds: have considerable blackish in wing coverts and wing tips, a black ear spot, black tip to the wedge-shaped tail.
