Tanager, Western (Provincial Rarety)

Bill stout but somewhat elongated, shorter than head, its ridge downcurved; upper mandible slightly toothed near middle of cutting edge. Adult male (breeding plumage): head red, palest on throat; rest of under parts, neck, rump, and upper tail coverts yellow; back, wings and tail mostly black; two pale-yellow wing bars.
