Tern, Arctic (Provincial Rarety)
-Sterna paradisaea Pontoppidan
Very similar to Common Tern but legs (tarsi) shorter; bill of breeding adults of a deeper red and without (usually) a dusky tip; under parts more distinctly grey, this extending farther up on lower face. Adults in winter plumage have forehead and front of crown whitish, under parts white, blackish bill and feet.
