Forehead and sides of head black, forming a mask, which is margined narrowly above and behind by greyish; rest of upper parts, wings and tail olive green; no wing bars or tail patches; throat and breast yellow; abdomen whitish to pale buff; sides and flanks brownish olive. In autumn, the black mask feathers are tipped with grey.
