Jaeger, Long-tailed (Provincial Rarety)
-Stercorarius longicaudus Vieillot
The smallest of the jaegers. Adults have long slender tail feathers, projecting 12.7 to 23 cm beyond the others. Bill sheath is about equal to chord of remainder of upper mandible. Similar in colouration to the Parasitic Jaeger, but consistently lacks a breast band; cap decidedly more blackish; there is no whitish area at the base of the upper mandible; and the legs, but not feet, are bluish grey.
