-Pipilo erythrophthalmus (Linnaeus)
Head, neck, upper parts, and upper breast black, the black of upper breast sharply cut off from the white lower breast and abdomen; sides and flanks chestnut, this extending to the under tail coverts, where paler; wings black with a small white patch, formed by the white basal parts of the outer webs of the outermost four or five primaries; tertials with some white outer edges, tail black with large mass of white on terminal part of several outer feathers on each side. Eye red.
