-Junco hyemalis (Linnaeus)
Adult male: head, neck, back, rump, wings, breast, sides and flanks plain dark-slate colour, darkest (almost black) on head; lower breast, abdomen, and under tail coverts plain white sharply cut off from slaty parts; central tail feathers slaty black, the two outermost tail feathers white, the third partly slate, partly white; bill pinkish or flesh colour, often tipped with dusky, especially in autumn and winter; legs brownish-flesh colour.
