Adults: Crown with buffy-grey median stripe, sides of crown brown streaked with black; hind-neck and sides of neck plain greyish; back and scapulars buffy brown streaked with black; rump brownish or greyish brown; tail brown, narrowly edged with grey; two faint whitish or pale-buffy wing bars; broad stripe over eye buffy white; ear patch buffy brown with narrow dark-brown border above and below; under parts whitish, somewhat tinged with pale-greyish buff on breast and sides; bill duksy above and at tip, otherwise flesh colour; legs brownish flesh.
