Adult: White head with blackish-slate cap on hind crown and nape, this dark colour extending narrowly forward to encircle eyes; back, wings and tail slaty, the flight feathers and tail feathers tipped with white; abdomen, sides and flanks plain grey (paler than back) paling to whitish near tail; bill and legs black.
