Practically identical to Alder Flycatcher, but with relatively slightly longer bill and more rounded wings; in colour tends to have relatively slightly paler, less greenish back. However, there is considerable overlapping of these characters and some specimens apparently are not certainly identifiable even in the hand. Voice is the best distinction between the two.
