-Aquila chrysaetos (Linnaeus)
Adult: Mainly dark brown (fading paler), legs usually paler. Nape and hind-neck tawny or golden brown. Tail dark brown, base paler and with several poorly defined ashy bands. Bill dusky. Cere and feet yellow. Immatures: Similar to adults but with more white in tail. Juvenile is darker and has basal two-thirds of tail white and considerable white in the secondaries. Older immatures as they approach maturity have decreasing amounts of white in tail and wing.
