-Ictinia mississippiensis (Wilson)

Adult male: head pale grey with small black area in front of eye. Mantle dark slate-grey passing into blackish at bend of wing. A broad band across secondaries pale grey, becoming almost white at feather tips. Primaries blackish, their webs with inconspicuous small areas of rufous. Tail plain black, slightly notched. Under parts neutral grey. Iris red; legs orange or orange-red.
