-Columba livia (Gmelin)
In addition to normal wild plumage, selective breeding has produced many variations in colour and form. In Canada, it is not likely to be confused with any living species except the band-tailed Pigeon of western Canada, but the rock dove's two dark wing bars, reddish legs, dark bill and in flight, white rump patch readily distinguish it.
