-Calidris melanotos (Vieillot)

A medium-sized sandpiper with straight bill (2.5 to 3.4cm). Tail with two middle feathers pointed and extending well beyond the others. Broad buffy band across the breast and fore-neck, heavily and evenly streaked with dusky, and sharply cutt off from white belly. Throat white. Rump blackish brown. Bill greenish yellow at base becoming black at tip. Legs yellowish green or greenish yellow.
